Truvia as alternative to Splenda?

Trying to make some yummy desserts for my dad using kidney-friendly recipes I've found on this site. Several recipes call for Splenda baking blend, which I can't find at my local store. Is it safe to use Truvia baking blend instead? Thank you in advance for any help.

And I've never heard of Truvia. That's very strange that you can't find the Splenda. In our stores it's usually on the very top shelf right by the sugar. Good luck with finding it. All you can do is try the Truvia, they can't be that much different can they?
