  • CKD and Breastfeeding

Hi. I'm new here. I got preeclampsia with my third pregnancy last August and had acute renal failure, which people assured me would heal, but now it has officially progressed to CKD. My GFR is somewhere around 30. I'm still breastfeeding my 6-month-old and hope to continue through a switch from a beta blocker to an ACE inhibitor in the next month or so. I have seen a nutritionist, but it's still a daily struggle to eat properly for my kidneys and my milk supply. Just wondering if anyone else out there is doing this, or dealing with CKD and young children (my others are 4 and 2). I'd also like to hear about your strategies for exercise and energy rationing. Thanks!
