Aspirin regimen and CKD
I put myself on an aspirin regimen but all my doctors were ok with it. Now I'm living in the Philippines and I guess I have CKD which I suppose goes with my type II. My nephro here suggests I switch off the baby aspirin to Plavix generic. Of course that will cost me a bit more money and I find nothing online to support his recommendation. I'm 59 yr old male with A1c at 6.0 but my creatinine has jumped up from 1.0 in Feb. 2013 to 1.6 now. My BUN is high too. No probs showing up in my urine tests. Potassium on the normal but high edge. Anybody have experience with the aspirin regimen ? I was taking Arginine and Lysine which I have stopped taking for a month now. I am going to do some lab work soon here, hoping that they caused the higher readings. My RBC and Hemoglobin are also a bit low. -
Oh well, now serum creatinine 1.67 so I guess L Arginine and L Lysine not the culprits. I was tentative about switching off the aspirin regimen and going with the Plavix generic but not anymore. Study was done and doesn't even sound close.

You might want to try taking a Arginine and Citrulline combination. They are both precursors that your body uses to make Nitric Oxide. N.O. is a vasodilator that lowers your blood pressure. My nephrologist has me on low dose aspirin also.Originally posted by Bang4dabuck View PostOh well, now serum creatinine 1.67 so I guess L Arginine and L Lysine not the culprits.
