  • Heart failure and dialysis

My husband has been on dialysis one year. His attitude has always been good. He accepted it as it has to be. Unfortunately his blood pressuree dropped when he started dialysis and he had to stop his bl pressure meds, which I find out now how important they were in keeping him stable. He has gradually become very weak, but we still kept going. In March he was sent from dialysis to the hospital because he was gaspng for breath. They said he was in heart failure. They were going to do angiogram and I felt he was ok on meds and was afraid. to do it. He came home and seemed ok and seemed to improve. But again, they sent him to the emergency room from dialysis. This time they said he had a mild heart attack. They gave him medication and sent him home again. He still wasn"t doing too good. One day I had to call an ambulance I don t know what was going on. Got to emergency room and everythingchecked out. Sent him home. Again they sent him from dialysis to emergency room. I went over and sat with him My kidney doctor came over and looked at monitor and got us released so he could go back to dialysis on the late session. He completed dialyiss and when i went to pick him up the nurse came out saying " I don t know what is going on but I am sending him back to emergency room. Everything checked out except he was so weak Emergency room doctor called the kidney doctor and he said I could take him home He also mentioned to her that I didn t want the angiogram the first time She said to me You didn t want to do the angiogram and the doctor said you can go home. I said there was no way I could take him home in his condition that I felt he had to be admitted. To make a long story short I am now at a point where they say he has only 15% heart function seems he had another heart attack and is still faced with dialysis. I do not know where to turn any more. He seems rational but they do not give me much hope because of his problems. He also has pad He has been very stable up till now My only choice is to take him home and transport him back and forth to dialysis or just stop dialysis. Any input anyone can give me would be apprecialted. Has anyone been in this situation before.?
